The illegal immigrant who killed Sheridan Gorman was released into the country by the Biden administration after being arrested by U.S. Border Patrol.
Gorman, an 18-year-old student at Loyola University, was allegedly shot and killed by Jose Medina-Medina late Thursday night near the campus. Medina-Medina, a Venezuelan illegal immigrant, approached Gorman’s group “while wearing a mask” and gunned down the student as she attempted to flee according to Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
DHS stated in a Sunday press release that Medina-Medina was caught by U.S. Border Patrol on May 9, 2023 and released under the Biden administration, and was arrested a second time, this time for shoplifting, before being released on June 19, 2023. The agency referred the Daily Caller News Foundation to its press release when reached for comment.
Acting Assistant Secretary of DHS Lauren Bis said the Biden administration’s border policies “failed” Gorman.
“Sheridan Gorman had her whole life ahead of her before this cold-blooded killer decided to end her life,” Bis said in a statement. “She was failed by open border policies and sanctuary politicians who RELEASED this illegal alien TWICE before he went on to commit this heinous murder.”
DHS also announced on Sunday that ICE lodged an arrest detainer asking Democratic Illinois Gov.
