Bob Bauer, a senior adviser to President-elect Joe Biden, is blasting President Donald Trump after The Washington Post published audio of a phone call he had with Georgiaâs Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.
During the phone call, Trump can be heard pressuring Raffensperger to âfindâ votes to change the stateâs presidential election results.
In a statement on Sunday, Bauer said, âWe now have irrefutable proof of a president pressuring and threatening an official of his own party to get him to rescind a stateâs lawful, certified vote count and fabricate another in is place.â
âIt captures the whole, disgraceful story about Donald Trumpâs assault on American democracy,â he added.

The Washington Post published an excerpt of Trumpâs call with Raffensperger where he can be heard telling the secretary of state that âthe people of Georgia are angry, the people in the country are angryâ about the election results.
âThereâs nothing wrong with saying, you know, um, that youâve recalculated,â he added.
He continued to press Raffensperger on a series of baseless allegations of widespread fraud in Georgia as he asked whether ballots were shredded or voting machines were tampered with.
Raffensperger and his general counsel, who was also on the call, quickly shot down Trumpâs claims as they defended the integrity of the stateâs election.
Trump then said, âI just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have, because we won the state.â
Trumpâs comments during the call drew swift criticism on social media.

Biden won the state by 11,779 votes. However, Trump has made baseless allegations that there was widespread fraud that tilted the result in Bidenâs favor.
