Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden had some harsh words for the current occupant of the White House during their first debate.
Biden called President Donald Trump a âclown,â a âracist,â and âthe worst president America has ever hadâ on Tuesday.
During an interview with Philadelphia CBS News affiliate KDKA on Wednesday, the former vice president was asked if he had any regrets about his comments during the debate.
âNo,â he said, adding, âBecause everything I said was true.â
Specifically, Biden was asked about a moment during the debate when Trump avoided condemning white supremacists. He said, âThe words of a president matter, no matter how good or bad a president they are.â
He continued, âRemember what was asked last night? âWould you condemn white supremacists?â And I said, âWhat about the Proud Boys?â And he said, âI will just tell them to stand down and stand by.â Look at their logo this morning. They put out a logo â an official logo, theyâre very proud of it â that says âProud Boys, stand down but stand by.â That is absolutely outrageous.'â

When asked if he would explicitly condemn white supremacists during, Trump said, âSure.â
âI would say almost everything I see is from the left-wing. Not from the right-wing. Iâm willing to do anything, I want to see peace,â he continued.
However, when he asked for a specific group to condemn, Biden mentioned the far-right group Proud Boys and Trump responded, âProud Boys, stand back and stand by. But Iâll tell you what, somebodyâs got to do something about Antifa and the left. Because this is not a right-wing problem.â
During a separate interview, Biden said Trumpâs debate performance was a ânational embarrassment.â
âI just hope the American people and those undecided voters try to determine what each of us has as an answer for their concerns,â he added.
