President Donald Trump and President-elect Joe Biden are observing Veterans Day by laying wreaths at memorials.
On Wednesday morning, Trump made his first public appearance since the presidential election on Nov. 3, when he visited Arlington National Cemetary.
Trump laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and briefly touched it and saluted. His appearance last roughly 10 minutes.
Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, laid a wreath at the Korean War Memorial in Philadelphia.
In a tweet, Biden said, “Today, we honor the service of those who have worn the uniform of the Armed Forces of the United States.”
“To our proud veterans—I will be a commander in chief who respects your sacrifice, understands your service, and will never betray the values you fought so bravely to defend,” he added.
