His press conference got testy at the end when he was asked why he is āconfidentā Russian President Vladimir Putin would change his behavior.
āIām not confident heāll change his behavior. What the hell? What do you do all the time? When did I say I was confident? What I said was⦠what will change their behavior is if the rest of the world reacts to them and diminishes their standing in the world,ā Biden responded.
CNNās Kaitlan Collins asked, āGiven his past behavior has not changed and in that press conference⦠he denied any involvement in cyberattacks, he downplayed human rights abuses, he even refused to say Alexei Navalnyās name. How does that account to a constructive meeting?ā
āIf you donāt understand that, youāre in the wrong business,ā Biden shot back.
He later apologized to Collins for being āsuch a wise guy.ā
Biden has previously raised eyebrows with his response to questions during his foreign trip.
āIām sorry, Iām going to get in trouble with staff if I donāt do this the right way,ā Biden told reporters during a press conference on Sunday.
As he took one final question, he said, āIām going to get in trouble with my staff.ā
āGo ahead, but pretend I didnāt answer you,ā he added.
