President Joe Biden’s sister, Valerie Biden Owens, says Democrats should be considered the pro-life party because they are the ones ā€œadvocating for a better life,ā€ according to her book.

Fox News received a copy of her memoir titled, ā€œGrowing Up Biden: A Memoir.ā€

Owens explained she ā€œharbored complicated feelings on the topicā€ of Abortion, adding, ā€œI’m pro-choice, but I remain convinced that Democrats chose the wrong term for our side of the issue.ā€

She continued, ā€œWe should have been pro-life, for we are the ones advocating for a better life, a life in which a mother gets to determine her future and that of her child.ā€

Owens ā€œeven accidentallyā€ says she is ā€œpro-life.ā€

She added, ā€œSometimes, I even accidentally say I’m pro-life, because that’s what it feels like the pro-choice position should have been called.ā€

The New York Post noted Owens’ memoir appears to conflict with a White House ethics policy saying family members should not be able to profit off of their relationship with the president.

Last January, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said in a statement, ā€œIt’s the White House’s policy that the President’s name should not be used in connection with any commercial activities to suggest or in any way — in any way they could reasonably be understood to imply his endorsement or support.ā€

Fox News pointed out Owens previously served as the president’s campaign manager and advised him during his presidential campaigns.

During an interview with CBS News earlier this month, Owens was asked how she has been a force of nature for her brother.

ā€œI’ve been his sister. That’s what you have at the end of everything. You go to family,ā€ Owens said.

Her memoir will be released on Tuesday.

Owens’ book tour was expected to begin last Thursday but went virtual after it was reported she tested positive for COVID-19.
