Caitlyn Jenner is speaking out in support of Texas after the state received backlash for its new Abortion law.
âI am for a womanâs right to choose. I am also for a state having the ability to make their own laws,â Jenner said during an interview with CNNâs âNew Dayâ on Tuesday.
She added, âSo I support Texas in that decision, thatâs their decision⊠But as far as being a womanâs right to choose, I donât see any changes in our laws in California in the future.â
CNNâs Brianna Keilar pressed Jenner, asking, âBut youâre fine with the Texas law? Even though you say that you support Abortion rights, you are fine with a law that essentially outlaws Abortion?â
Jenner replied, âI think that they have the right in their state to do what they want to do. Now do I agree with the decision or not? No. To be honest with you I actually probably do not agree with the decision. But I agree that they do have the right to make their own decision.â

Last week, the Supreme Court refused to block the law banning all abortions after six weeks. The decision was criticized by several, including President Joe Biden.
Attorney General Merrick Garland announced on Monday the Department of Justice is exploring âall optionsâ to challenge the law, as IJR reported.
He added, âWe will continue to protect those seeking to obtain or provide reproductive health services pursuant to our criminal and civil enforcement of the FACE Act.â
Garland said the department will âprovide support from federal law enforcement when an Abortion clinic or reproductive health center is under attack. We have reached out to U.S. Attorneysâ Offices and FBI field offices in Texas and across the country to discuss our enforcement authorities.â
