Rapper Cardi B slammed the government of New York City for having defunded libraries, the police, and sanitation departments.
In an Instagram live video on Sunday, Cardi B revealed that she was âangryâ about recent budget cuts that New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) revealed earlier this week, and added that she would no longer be endorsing presidential candidates.
Adams announced on Thursday that the Budget cuts would lead to a freeze in police hiring and libraries would be closed on Sundays, in an effort to deal with the ongoing migrant crisis, according to The New York Times.
âIn New York, there is a $120 million budget cut,â Cardi B began. âThere is a $120 million budget cut in New York that is going to affect schools, public libraries, and uhmâŚthe police department.â
The rapper continued to point out that there was also a $5 million budget cut to the sanitation department.
âA budget cut in sanitation,â Cardi B said. âB**ch, we going to be drowning with rats. Weâre going to be drowning in f**king rats.â
Cardi B continued to add how she would no longer endorse political candidates for president and slammed President Joe Bidenâs willingness to âfund two warsâ while New York City would be slashing funding for schools, police, libraries, and sanitation.
âMotherf**kers talkinâ about we donât got it, but we got it and weâre the greatest nation,â Cardi B continued. âNo the f**k weâre not. Weâre going through some s**t right now.â
The rapper continued to point out how âNew York is already f**king super dirtyâ and that it would get âeven dirtierâ with the Budget cuts.
