Reason would lead you to believe that after the Democratic Party gotĀ shellackedĀ last November, party leaders would have come together and concluded they have become too out of touch with the American people, they were no longer seen as the party of the American worker, and if there were any chance of a comeback in the way of electoral victory, they needed to rethink their strategy.
But then, youād assume there was still some reason left in todayās Democratic Party. Not so.
Todayās Democrats are ā thereās no other word for it ā wacky.
From embracing an illegal alien MS-13 gang member who engaged inĀ human trafficking,Ā domestic violence, andĀ murdering and rapingĀ an innocent American mother, to fighting for men to be recognized as women (have you seen whatās going on inĀ Maine?), to travelling across the country onĀ private jetsĀ to āfight the oligarchy,ā to cheering on and taking advice from far-left liberal activists who are committed toĀ unseatingĀ their own incumbents, the Democrats have truly lost their way.
And thereās no sign that they will return to normalcy any time soon, if ever.
New polling shows that socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez is nowĀ more favorableĀ to Democrats than Chuck Schumer, reflecting the larger trend that Democrats believe the party isĀ not progressive enough. (Is that even possible?)
That explains why youāre seeing Democrat U.S. elected officials take the side of illegals over American citizens, like Rep. Jahana Hayes who said sheĀ regrettedĀ supporting the Laken Riley Act which requires illegals who commit crimes to be detained. OrĀ Vincente GonzalezĀ who flip flopped on his initial support for the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, a common sense bill that prevents non-U.S. citizens from voting in our elections.
What has really gotten the American people scratching their heads is DemocratsĀ flying to El SalvadorĀ to push for the return of an MS-13 gang member who murdered an innocent Maryland mother.
The number one issue last November was the economy, and that remains true today. Rather than present policies that offer an alternative to President Trump and Republicansā agenda to bring back American jobs and get the economy growing again (which seems to beĀ working, albeit slowly) Democrats are spending time in El Salvador.
There is simply no good argument that will convince the average American citizen why members of Congress who are elected to represent Americans are using their time to defend an illegal immigrant who is a member of a now designated aĀ Foreign Terrorist Organization.
Where we will see this play out is in the midterms.
Groups like the National Republican Congressional Committee are capitalizing on the moment, offering toĀ pay for House Democratsā plane tickets to El Salvador, so long as they promise to film their trip. The ads make themselves. (How many will useĀ this videoĀ from Democrat Rep. Maxine Dexter?)
Democrats are betting their political future on a strategy that only works for the most leftist wing of their party. Will they ever return to normal?
As of today, outlook not so good.
