Democratic strategist James Carville predicted Tuesday that President Donald Trump would âcut a dealâ after Democrats target his children and their spouses following the 2026 midterms.
Multiple congressionalDemocrats have attempted to push impeachment resolutions since Trump took office for the second time on Jan. 20, 2025, on a variety of issues, including his efforts to crack down on illegal immigration and the June 2025 strike on Iranian nuclear sites. Carville vowed that Trump would not be the only target during a Tuesday video posted to YouTube.
âThe Democrats are going to investigate you to no end. I would like to introduce you to Senator Sheldon Whitehouse⌠because it is a lot of peopleâs view â by the way, and Congressman Jeffires and Senator Schumer, theyâre going to go down to the White House on November 10th, and then youâre going to have some stiff photo of them sitting there talking about collegiality and cooperation,â Carville gloated. âHa! Believe that bullshit.â

âThen theyâre going to start going after you. Then theyâre going to start figuring out where all the money stolen is. Then theyâre going to go after your stupid jackass kids and their spouses and all the other bullshit that you see, and theyâre going to investigate the shit out of you,â Carville continued. âAnd then when it comes to this stuff youâre doing in Iran, I got to tell you, youâre getting really, really, really close to war crimes here. Youâre probably going to cross the line. And the one thing that Democrats are going to insist on in the 2028 election is that if youâre indicted by the international courts in, I think itâs in the Hague or somewhere in the Netherlands, not going to protect your ass.â
After his first term, Trump was indicted multiple times, including on business fraud charges by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, and for his efforts to challenge the 2020 election results by special counsel Jack Smith and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
âYouâre going to cut a deal and youâre going to resign and J.D. is going to pardon you. He got to pardon a lot of other people, but heâs a creepy, ambitious little twerp, heâll do whatever he can to get in the White House,â Carville said. âBut they canât pardon you for state crimes. They canât pardon you in the International Criminal Court. They canât pardon you for any of this.â
