Radio host Charlamagne Tha God told a Democratic caller on âThe Breakfast Clubâ Friday that she was wrong to attack him for criticizing former President Joe Biden during the 2024 presidential election.
Charlamagne frequently criticizedBiden on his show during the election, asserting on July 9, 2024, that he had ânever been a good candidate.â The caller awarded âDonkey Of The Dayâ to the media, including Charlamagneâs show, based on her belief that they helped President Donald Trump win.

âThe media elected Trump even while Biden was in office. There was so much emphasis on what Trump was doing ⌠And all the good things that Biden and Kamala did, I feel like there was no reporting of it,â the caller said. âRhetoric matters. âThe Breakfast Clubâ played a lot of influence in how you guys would report on Biden even after the debate. The way Democrats brought down Democrats â itâs just like Republicans would never do that.â
âAnd even you, Charlamagne, you had a lot to say negative,â she added. âI just feel like you have to just really be intentional about the things weâre saying. We canât turn on each other. Democrats canât turn.â
Charlamagne retorted that he was âvery intentionalâ with his rhetoric and that he was not a member of the Democratic Party.
âIâm also not going to lie to people. And you know what else you canât lie about? You canât lie about what you see,â he said. âSo I understand that you want to blame the media, but is there any blame for President Biden?â
âYou know what you should do? You should read the âOriginal Sinâ by Jake Tapper and you should read Kamala Harrisâ â107 Days,ââ he continued. âAnd Kamala Harris said herself that it was reckless for President Biden to make the decision to run again when everybody knew he was in the condition he was in.â
Tapperâs book on Bidenâs decline found that cabinet officials believed the former president would not be dependable at 2 a.m. during an emergency and that he failed to recognize actor George Clooney at a fundraiser.
In addition to Bidenâs reported decline, the former president oversaw the highest level of net migration in U.S. history, according to The New York Timesâ analysis of government data in December 2024. Around 11 million border encounters happened between February 2021 and December 2024, according to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data.
Moreover, inflation reached a peak of 9% in June 2022 under Biden, an increase from 1.4% in January 2021 when he was inaugurated.
