Chris Evans Addresses Rumors of Original ‘Avengers’ Reunion

Actor 🎬Chris Evans addressed rumors of a potential original “Avengers” cast reunion.

On Monday, Evans, 42, who portrayed Steve Rogers/Captain America in the 🦸Marvel Cinema Universe (MCU), appeared on “The View” and revealed whether a reunion was in the works.

“You know, I always see those reports, too, and it’s news to me,” he shared.

Evans continued, “I think every couple months someone says that they’re getting Downey , and Hemsworth, and Scarlett , and everyone’s coming back! No one’s spoken to me about it.”

However, Evans said he would “never say never” about reprising his role.

“I’m very protective. It’s a very precious role to me, so it would have to be just right,” he added.

Evans also revealed what he misses about being a part of the “🦸Marvel world.”

“Yeah, so many things. I mean, it’s just intrinsically cool to be a superhero. It’s very fun to play make-believe and live out your childhood dreams.”

He referenced the friendships he made with not only the cast, whom he said are “some of my best friends in the world,” but also the crew after months of filming together.

This came after Variety reported there were talks of the original “Avengers” team reassembling. However, the outlet stated 🦸Marvel Studios hadn’t “yet committed to the idea.”

The last “Avengers” film was in 2019, per Rotten Tomatoes.

In April, Evans made similar comments in an interview with The Wrap about the film series.

“It’s tough. I love that role deeply. It means so much to me,” he stated.

Furthermore, he said he believes Steve Rogers’ story isn’t complete.

“And I mean, do I think there’s more Steve Rogers stories to tell? Sure. But at the same time, I’m very, very precious with it,” he explained.

Evans continued, “It’s like this little shiny thing that I have that I love so much, and I just don’t want to mess up in any way, and I was a part of something that was so special for the special period of time and in a way it really landed so well.”

Additionally, Evans said as much as he is “connected to that role” and loves “telling those stories and working with those people,” the timing “doesn’t quite feel right right now.”
