Actor Chris Evans addressed rumors of a potential original ā€œAvengersā€ cast reunion.

On Monday, Evans, 42, who portrayed Steve Rogers/Captain America in the Marvel Cinema Universe (MCU), appeared on ā€œThe Viewā€ and revealed whether a reunion was in the works.

ā€œYou know, I always see those reports, too, and it’s news to me,ā€ he shared.

Evans continued, ā€œI think every couple months someone says that they’re getting Downey , and Hemsworth, and Scarlett , and everyone’s coming back! No one’s spoken to me about it.ā€

However, Evans said he would ā€œnever say neverā€ about reprising his role.

ā€œI’m very protective. It’s a very precious role to me, so it would have to be just right,ā€ he added.

Evans also revealed what he misses about being a part of the ā€œMarvel world.ā€

ā€œYeah, so many things. I mean, it’s just intrinsically cool to be a superhero. It’s very fun to play make-believe and live out your childhood dreams.ā€

He referenced the friendships he made with not only the cast, whom he said are ā€œsome of my best friends in the world,ā€ but also the crew after months of filming together.

This came after Variety reported there were talks of the original ā€œAvengersā€ team reassembling. However, the outlet stated Marvel Studios hadn’t ā€œyet committed to the idea.ā€

The last ā€œAvengersā€ film was in 2019, per Rotten Tomatoes.

In April, Evans made similar comments in an interview with The Wrap about the film series.

ā€œIt’s tough. I love that role deeply. It means so much to me,ā€ he stated.

Furthermore, he said he believes Steve Rogers’ story isn’t complete.

ā€œAnd I mean, do I think there’s more Steve Rogers stories to tell? Sure. But at the same time, I’m very, very precious with it,ā€ he explained.

Evans continued, ā€œIt’s like this little shiny thing that I have that I love so much, and I just don’t want to mess up in any way, and I was a part of something that was so special for the special period of time and in a way it really landed so well.ā€

Additionally, Evans said as much as he is ā€œconnected to that roleā€ and loves ā€œtelling those stories and working with those people,ā€ the timing ā€œdoesn’t quite feel right right now.ā€
