A recent exchange between Donald Trump and George Clooney can be summed up in three words â tit for tat.
Clooney, an Academy Award-winning actor, responded to the former presidentâs insistence that Clooney âget out of Politics and go back to television.â
âYou know, I will if he does,â Clooney said as the audience of the âJimmy Kimmel Live!â show applauded Tuesday.
âThatâs a trade-off Iâd do.â
Clooney, an ardent Democratic supporter, wrote an op-ed in the âNew York Timesâ op-ed, wanting President Joe Biden to leave the the race in the 2024 election in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris. Biden dropped out of the race in July, per Mediaite.
Kimmel asked Clooney about the possibility of another Trump administration.
Kimmel then repeated some of the things Trump has said about Clooney, including calling him a âfake movie actorâ and demanding Clooney âget out of Politics and go back to television.â
Thatâs when Clooney suggested he will if Trump does.
Clooney also spoke about becoming more vocal politically and the weight that holds.
âYou have to understand that by doing this, youâre not just going after Trump, youâre potentially influencing the future of the nation.â
Clooney also lauded Biden for dropping out of the presidential race.
âBiden did something really extraordinary,â he said.
