CNN postponed “The Imperial Presidency,” a documentary from host Fareed Zakaria, after Saturday night’s attempted assassination of President Donald Trump.
California teacher Cole Allen is expected to appear in court Monday afternoon to face charges of discharging a firearm while committing a violent crime and assaulting federal officers. Zakaria announced the program’s delay from its planned Sunday 9:00 p.m. ET airtime in an X post hours before it was set to run.
“n update: My latest documentary, ‘The Imperial Presidency,’ will air at a later date. We will keep you posted,” Zakaria wrote in the post.
In the documentary, Zakaria will examine “the steady expansion of presidential power in America – a decades-long evolution that predates Donald Trump – and explores how and why the presidency has grown far beyond what the nation’s founders envisioned,” according to its summary on DirecTV’s website.
