A CNN reporter is admitting former President Donald Trumpâs rally in the Bronx likely drew a larger crowd that Democrats would have liked to have seen.
The networkâs Kristen Holmes spoke to journalist Anderson Cooper from the site of Trumpâs rally on Thursday and was asked, âWhat was the crowd like and what sort of response did he get?â
âIt was certainly a bigger crowd than I think Democrats would like to see, particularly given this is one of the bluest counties in the entire country,â Holmes responded.
She also shared the Trump campaign said it was going to try to specifically âmicro-targetâ people who lived in the Bronx to get them to go to the rally, while pointing out historically people have traveled âhundreds of milesâ to see the former president.
âHowever, one of the things that I found what that there were a lot of people here that were actually from the Bronx,â Holmes added.

Trumpâs rally was notable as it was the first in over 40 years a Republican presidential nominee to campaign in the Bronx.
Additionally, it was the first time since 2016 he held a rally in New York State.
The New York Post reports thousands of fans tried to show up for the former president, however, only 3,500 were allowed into the park.
