Congresswoman Calls on Capitol Police to Address Greene’s ‘Dangerous Threats in My Workplace’

Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Mich.) expressed her concern for Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-Ga.) mental health following her latest comments on the Second Amendment.

Stevens took to Twitter to react to comments Greene made about exercising Second Amendment rights.

“Ultimately, the truth is it’s our Second Amendment rights, our right to bear arms, that protects Americans and gives us the ability to defend ourselves from a tyrannical government,” Greene said. “And I hate to use this language, but Democrats, they’re exactly … they’re doing exactly what our Founders talked about when they gave us the precious rights that we have.”

Stevens tweeted, “I am concerned about the mental health of my colleague from Georgia and would like to address her dangerous threats in my workplace.”

She added, “Just as we would in any school or job site, we cannot let calls for gun violence go unchecked.”

Greene also said she is not a “violent person” and hopes to “never see a civil war in this country.”

The Republican made headlines in August when she suggested individuals could threaten police with guns if they show up asking for their vaccination status.

“You lucky people here in Alabama might get a knock on your door, because I hear Alabama might be one of the most unvaccinated states,” Greene said
