Country artist Colt Ford and rapper Krizz Kaliko, members of the musical group Hoodbillies, opened up about their new Patriotic song.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, the pair spoke about the inspiration behind their song āBad A** American.ā
Kaliko explained the project started after someone he met at a restaurant told him he āwalked like a bada**.ā
He shared:
āI know that a lot of our fan base, our joint fan base definitely are proud Americans. You know what Iām saying? And he (Ford) talks about it a lot, I talk about it a lot. And so⦠it just hit me. I was thinking like, āI want this guitar riff to sound a certain way.ā And man, I thought about walking in like a bad aā, bad aā American.ā

The country Music singer added the duo, who ābecame like brothers,ā really ājust wanted to do something positive and fun and let people know, like, itās OK to be a bad a** American.ā
āYouāre supposed to be proud. Youāre supposed to be aĀ proud American,ā he continued.
Furthermore, Ford said he and Kaliko are āproud of the flagā and āof this country.ā
Kaliko continued to express his love for America, telling Fox News Digital, āThereās nowhere else Iād rather live.ā
āI know that thereās, you know, that thereās a divide financially, racially, culturally, all of these other things in certain places in our country. But thereās no other place Iād rather live. Iām super proud to be from here,ā he continued.
The rapper also shared the āanthemā is something āeverybody can play at the cookoutsā and barbecues.
āWhatever you call it, light your fireworks. I think we should be proud,ā he stated.
Kaliko added, āWe go get fireworks and stuff, And I know thatās what itās turned into, but weāre celebrating the fact that, man, we are independent. Weāre an independent nation, weāre the biggest, baddest nation.ā
