A sitting Democrat senator is warning about what he sees as the trajectory of the 2024 Election.
During an interview on CNN’s “The Source” Tuesday, Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) confirmed he said during a private lunch that he does not believe President Joe Biden can win in November.
“You guys, and others, asked whether I said it, and that is what I said, so I figured I should come here and say it publicly,” Bennet told anchor Kaitlan Collins.
When asked why he felt that way, the senator explained:
“This race is on a trajectory that is very worrisome if you care about the future of this country. Joe Biden was up nine points at this time the last time he was running. Hillary Clinton was up five points. This is the first time in more than 20 years that a Republican president is up during this part of the campaign. Donald Trump is on track, I think, to win this election — and maybe win it by a landslide — and with him take the Senate and the House.”
