Former Democratic Rep. Pat Murphy of Pennsylvania struggled Monday when Fox News host Harris Faulkner asked him to name the accomplishments of Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett.
Crockett is considering a run for the United States Senate seat held by Republican Texas Sen. John Cornyn, prompting former Democratic Rep. Colin Allred of Texas to run for a House seat instead. Murphy highlighted some of Crockettâs more notorious media appearances and clashes with Republicans during congressional hearings to the âFaulkner Focusâ host.
WATCH:
âIn the congressional hearings, sheâs pretty tough. Listen, Iâm talking about her record as a member of Congress⌠I think she is holding this administration accountable on a lot of different things,â Murphy claimed. âI mean, she has been adamant about sticking to what the Constitution says and what it doesnât say. Iâve seen some of her congressional hearings. She is a smart lawyer that was a public defender in that district before she got into office and then she has been there, you canât deny the fact she is not a back-bencher. She has been at the forefront on a message to hold this administration accountable.â
Murphy then noted that Democratic Texas State Rep. James Talarico was also running in the primary.
âYou donât know what John Cornynâs done. You donât know what has done,â Faulkner responded. âThese people have records, she should have a record, too. What you gave me was her public influencer profile.â
Crockett falsely accused EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin of taking money from registered sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during the debate on the floor of the House of Representatives in November on legislation to force the Trump administration to release files about Epstein.
During her Sept. 12 appearance on âThe Breakfast Club,â Crockettâs discussion of United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with host Charlamagne tha God, took an inflammatory path when she compared the agencyâs operations to âslave patrols.â
Since a clash with Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia during a May 2024 House Oversight Committee hearing, Crockett has become a prominent House Democrat. She has used profanity and unleashed racially-charged rants during Congressional hearings and for calling Republican Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas âGovernor Hot Wheelsâ in reference to Abbottâs use of a wheelchair after he was paralyzed following a back injury.
