The Democratsâ official Instagram account posted a video Wednesday claiming President Donald Trump is âdestroyingâ the White House with his temporary demolition of the East Wing, but the social media post seemingly mistakenly includes a photograph of Buckingham Palaceâs East Wing.
On Monday, the East Room was partly demolished as construction began to build a 90,000 square foot ballroom. The Democratsâ Instagram account posted a reel with the caption âThe Peopleâs House destroyed by Trump

,â which features several old photographs and video clips of the White House in years past, displaying text that reads âThe East Wing In A Different Time.â
Though, the Instagram reel also includes a photo of whatappears to be part of Buckingham Palaceâs East Wing, not the East Wing of the White House.
A Democratic National Committee (DNC) spokesperson and the White House did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundationâs request for comment.
The GOPâs official X account wrote in a Thursday post that âthe DNC is so mad that President Trump is building a new ballroom at the White House, they posted a sad Instagram video last night. Too bad their intern put in a photo of the East Wing in Buckingham Palace, not the White House.â
Many Democrats, left-wing activists and corporate news outlets are reportedly extremely upset over the temporary East Wing demolition. DNC Chairman Ken Martin wrote Thursday in an Instagram post âRIP to the East Wing- you were elegant, inviting, and didnât deserve to be bulldozed for a gaudy ballroom.â
Additionally, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton wrote in an X post on Tuesday that âItâs not his house. Itâs your house. And heâs destroying it.â Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom wrote in a Monday post to X that Trump is âripping apart the White House just like heâs ripping apart the Constitution.â
âIn the latest instance of manufactured outrage, unhinged leftists and their Fake News allies are clutching their pearls over President Donald J. Trumpâs visionary addition of a grand, privately funded ballroom to the White House â a bold, necessary addition that echoes the storied history of improvements and additions from commanders-in-chief to keep the executive residence as a beacon of American excellence,â The White House said in an article released on Tuesday.
