Ghislaine Maxwell — Jeffrey Epstein’s convicted sex trafficking accomplice — is reportedly preparing to seek a commutation of her 20-year federal prison sentence, according to a letter sent Monday by Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee to President Donald Trump.
According to CBS News, the letter alleges Maxwell is “preparing a ‘Commutation Application’ for your Administration to review, undoubtedly coming to you for your direct consideration,” and claims that “the Warden herself is directly helping Ms. Maxwell copy, print, and send documents related to this application.”
Maxwell, who is currently incarcerated at the Bryan Federal Prison Camp in Texas, is serving a sentence scheduled to run through 2037.
The letter, signed by Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), accuses the Trump administration of giving Maxwell special treatment and suggests her influence may extend to the highest levels of government.
“The information we have received demonstrates either that Ms. Maxwell is herself requesting you release her from her 20-year prison sentence for her role as a co-conspirator in Jeffrey Epstein
