A bodyguard for Taylor Swift left his life in the United States to join the fight against Hamas, a Palestinian terrorist organization, encouraging people to not “be on the wrong side of history.”
The unnamed bodyguard confirmed to Eran Swissa, a reporter with Israel Hayom, that he had left his “pretty great life” in the U.S. where he was reportedly earning $500,00 a year at his job, to join the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), according to The Jerusalem Post.
“I have a pretty great life in the US, a dream job, great friends, and a comfortable home,” the bodyguard said. “I didn’t have to come here, but I couldn’t stand by while families were slaughtered and burned alive in their homes. Don’t stand by and do nothing. Don’t be on the wrong side of history.”
Swift’s bodyguard added that “it would be an insult to animals around the world to call these terrorists ‘animals.'”
“They killed and butchered families in their beds along with the family’s pets and in the end also burned down their houses,” the bodyguard said. “Try to imagine this happening in your neighborhood, or to your family.”
Reports surfaced of parents having been “butchered” while they were trying to “protect their children” and of babies that were beheaded, women raped, and entire families murdered.
Swift’s bodyguard received attention after a TikTok video surfaced of him doing a scan of the crowd around her, with a Barstool Sports commentator pointing out, “There’s security guards, and then there’s Taylor Swift’s security guard. This guys on a different level.”
Since Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel on Oct. 7, more than 1,400 Israelis are reported to be dead, along with 30 Americans. The IDF reported 155 people have been taken hostage by Hamas, including the elderly and children, according to The Guardian.
