Doocy Asks Biden If He Is Bothered By Kamala Harris Distancing Herself From His Economic Policies

Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked President Joe Biden on Thursday if he is bothered by Vice President Kamala Harris’ plan to reportedly distance herself from his economic policies.

The vice president is planning to rebrand herself ahead of the 2024 election by indicating there is daylight between her and Biden regarding his economic policies, which polls have shown to be a weak spot of his presidency, Axios reportedon Wednesday. Biden denied she would do so in response to Doocy outside of the White House.

“How much does it bother you that Vice President Harris might soon for political reasons start to distance herself from your economic plan?” Doocy asked.

“She’s not going to,” Biden replied.

Doocy pressed White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Harris’ alleged distancing at a press briefing on Wednesday. Jean-Pierre argued Harris has been involved with Biden’s economic policies and touted its success in strengthening the middle class.

“What I will tell you is Bidenomics has been something that both the president and the vice president has worked on,” Jean-Pierre told Doocy on Wednesday. “You guys have called it ‘Bidenomics,’ we talk about how the president is trying to put forward an economic policy building from the bottom-up, middle-out that does not leave behind the middle class and make sure it has equity at the center of it.”
