Twitter CEO Elon Musk offered his take on an AI-generated Harry Potter story with a joke.
Musk took to Twitter to react to a post published by software engineer Marc Andreessen where he prompted an artificial intelligence service to write a âBroadway stage play.â
Andreessen wrote, âThe plot involves Harry, a young wizard, and his friends Ron and Hermoine. They attend a school for wizards called Hogwarts. Many things happen.â
He continued, âThere is a fourth character, Wokey the house elf, who frequently breaks into the conversations to explain to Harry, Ron, and Hermoine how each innocent thing the characters say is actually racist, sexist or transphobic.â
Finally, Andreessen wrote, âBe specific and detailed in the dialogue and examples.â
In the story generated by the artificial intelligence, it paints the picture of the group of friends discussing a lesson they learned as Wokey dusts around the room.
At one point, Wokey interrupted the conversation to educate them on social issues.
âWhen you say âup all night,â Harry, that phrase is ableist,â Wokey said.
Wokey continued, âIt suggests that people who donât stay up late are not as productive or capable, which is simply not true.â
Harry then replied, âOh, I didnât mean anything by it. Iâm sorry, Wokey.â
Hermoine later added, âThank you for explaining, Wokey. Weâll be more mindful of our language in the future.â
In his tweet reacting to the story, Musk wrote, âTwitter has at least 10 million Wokeys.â
The story also sparked reactions from other users.
One user suggested Wokey âmust be destroyed. For the good of society.â
Another argued, âThis is an accurate representation of the wokeâs interpretation of âcultural appropriationâ. Even the AI sees how ridiculous it is.â
One tweet stated, âI canât,â with laughing emojis.
Muskâs remark comes less than a week after he suggested this weekâs âTwitter Filesâ report would be on former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci, in what could be identified as the âFauci Files,â as Fox News reported.
