Two high-ranking police officers in the Mexican State of MichoacĂĄn have been carrying out raids on behalf of the terrorist organization United Cartels. One of those officers had been investigated for his cartel ties but is now back on the job, carrying out raids and alleged abductions with complete impunity.
Breitbart News Foundation has obtained a series of photographs that appear to show Michoacan State Police officers carrying out raids on homes suspected of being used by criminal organizations that are rivals of United Cartels and their allies, including the Knights Templars. The raids are reportedly led by Commanders Marco Tulio Vertiz Rodriguez and Romualdo Albiter Rebollar. The two police leaders are allegedly working under orders of a cartel figure named Carmelo Alvarez Espinoza.

One of those raids took place this week in a rural area near the city of ApatzingĂĄn, MichoacĂĄn. In the photographs, the officers are seen pulling up to a home and raiding the property.

In response to the raids, Apatzingan has seen a series of banners posted throughout town denouncing the two police commanders for working with organized crime. The banners are addressed to Michoacanâs Governor Alfredo Ramirez Bedolla, asking him to do something. In the banners, the two police officials are accused of working with a local police chief in an attempt to use police forces to push out rival criminal organizations and regain territories that had previously been lost by the Knights Templar cartel.

The cartel-police raids come just days after Breitbart News Foundation published the address of wanted terrorist Jose Luis âEl Abueloâ Farias, the top leader of the Cartel De Tepalcatepec. The U.S. government is currently offering a reward for El Abuelo. Mexican authorities have been unable to find him despite the cartel bossâs address being known in his hometown and him keeping a regular schedule that has him eating at the same restaurant every morning.
Breitbart Texas has previously reported on how the Michoacan Governor, Ramirez Bedolla, is related to two cartel bosses from Michoacan who are currently serving a prison sentence in a U.S. prison. Michoacan is one of the hotspots of cartel violence in Mexico, where criminal organizations continue to operate with impunity despite claims from Mexicoâs federal government that the country is safe.
Editorâs Note: Breitbart Texas traveled to the Mexican States of Tamaulipas, Coahuila, Nuevo LeĂłn, and other areas to recruit citizen journalists willing to risk their lives and expose the cartels silencing their communities. Breitbart News Foundationâs Cartel Chronicles are published in both English and in their original Spanish. This article was written by Jose Luis Lara, a former leading member who helped start the Self-Defense Movement in MichoacĂĄn.
