Republican Tennessee Rep. Mark Green urged Trumpâs Department of Justice (DOJ) on Wednesday to review federal firearm licenses (FLLs) revoked during the Biden administration.
In a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi, Green commended the Trump administration for reversing Bidenâs âradical anti-gun policiesâ but explained that hundreds of businesses whose licenses were revoked âwith little to no due processâ are still dealing with the consequences, including two veteran-owned gun shops in his district.
âUnder former President Biden, the ATF aggressively pursued a ârevoke first, prove willfulness laterâ policy,â he wrote. âThis absurd and vindictive misinterpretation of the law victimized countless law-abiding business owners who did their best to conduct their business with caution and circumspection.â

Rep. Mark Green Letter To Bondi On Bidenâs âZero Toleranceâ Policy by Katelynn Richardson
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) revoked more licenses under its âzero toleranceâ policy in 2024 than any year in the last two decades, according to The Trace.
The DOJ and ATF repealed the policy, which Bondi said âunfairly targeted law-abiding gun owners and created an undue burden on Americans seeking to exercise their constitutional right to bear arms,â on April 7.
âWhile I am grateful the Trump administration has ended this egregious and predatory enforcement, there are still hundreds of firearm dealers who had their FFLs unjustly revoked,â Green wrote.
One of these companies is Tactical Edge Arms, whose license was revoked after the ATF found ten minor errors among the 2,500 forms it filed, an error that previously would have âwarranted a warning letter at most,â according to Greenâs letter.
Another company, Allenâs Gun Shop, was cited in 2021 for clerical errors after nearly 20 years in business and given just â15 days to cease all firearm sales with no option for an appeal,â according to the letter.
âInstead of spending their life savings on lawyersâ feesâthe Allens decided to shut their shop down,â Green wrote.
Green asked Bondi to âconsider issuing an expedient review of all federal firearms licenses revoked under the Biden administration.â
âIn many cases, the Biden ATF revoked the FFLs of gun shops with little to no due process,â he wrote. âIt is time to make this right.â
