Dr. Anthony Fauci is getting roasted over one detail about his home office.
Days before the infectious disease expert is set to retire from government work, The New York Times published an article about his plans for the future.
But the introduction to the article set off some on Twitter.
âThe walls in Dr. Anthony S. Fauciâs home office are adorned with portraits of him, drawn and painted by some of his many fans,â the article states. âThe most striking one is by the singer Joan Baez. The two of them, he said, âhave become pretty good friends over the years.ââ
Twitter owner Elon Musk called the detail âcreepy.â
âMaybe he just loves looking at science?â he quipped.
Another user highlighted a picture from April showing Fauci standing in front of diplomas and photos of himself.
Bryan Griffin, a press secretary for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), tweeted, âThough the public would benefit from rigorous debate and disagreement over this manâs edicts, the best the MSM can do is a fawning feature piece written to idolize Fauci.â
Another user wrote, âRegardless of how you feel about himâŚthis is creepy.â

Attorney Marina Medvin asked, âImagine if Donald Trump adorned the walls of his office with photos of himself. How would that article read?â
Amy Tarkanian, the former chairwoman of the Nevada Republican Party, tweeted, âWeirdo.â
The Times noted, âDr. Fauci seemed a little uncomfortable with people knowing about the pictures. He said that previously, when they were captured on camera, the âfar rightâ attacked him as an âegomaniac.â If someone goes to the trouble of sending him a portrait of himself, he said, he would âfeel like Iâm disrespecting themâ if he discarded it.â
