â feeling very good. Heâs doing what he said he was going to do,â one male voter told Brewster. âAnd change is happening very quickly.â
A second male voter said he supported Trumpâs actions, but was concerned about tariffs the president has levied on Canada and Mexico.
âI feel great and cautious. I think heâs doing a great job delivering what he said. Weâre moving at light speed. But there are some things that Iâm also concerned about too,â he told Brewster. âIâm concerned about the tariffs that just kicked in today and how thatâs going to affect me.â
A third male voter told Brewster he was uncertain regarding how he feels about the Trump administration so far.
âItâs hard to pinpoint if Iâm fully happy with everything thatâs going on, because I think itâs going to take some time to see what actually goes through and what what actually is,â he said. âSome of it seemed like a lot more posturing than actual getting things done.â
Pollster Frank Luntz said Wednesday that âpaycheck-to-paycheck votersâ are supportive of the Trump administration as it strives to solve critical issues that resonate with them, but are concerned about whether the president is sufficiently prioritizing lowering costs.
âThey are really happy that people who should not be here are being asked to leave, that theyâre really happy the Washingtonâs being held responsible and accountable for wasteful Washington spending, that they want to see the government be more efficient, more effective and more accountable,â Luntz said when NewsNation host Leland Vittert asked what he was hearing from these voters. âThe only criticism that they have is they donât want the president to take his eye off the ball when it comes to how much their day to day life costs them.â
A CBS News poll published Feb. 9 found that 70% of voters believed Trump was keeping his campaign promises, which included securing the border and cutting government waste.
