A Florida deputy heroically rescued a baby from an apartment fire in Orlando over the weekend and it was caught on body camera footage.
The Orange County Sheriffâs Office released the footage of Deputy William Puzynskiâs body camera where he is seen climbing up the three-story apartment balcony to retrieve the 1-year-old baby girl from the âragingâ fire.
In the video, Puzynski is heard assuring the babyâs mother that he was coming.
In a post shared on their Facebook page, the Orange County Sheriffâs Office detailed the events that led to the rescue and what transpired on camera, which they called âan amazing twist of fate.â
Early Saturday morning, they responded to a call about the apartment building being âpartiallyâ on fire and as they were evacuating other residents out of the building they saw a mother and baby on the third balcony âwith flames coming from the apartment.â
âWhen I got here, we saw the building fully engulfed. It was chaos everywhere,â Puzynski told CNN affiliate WKMG.

After Puzynski was able to retrieve the baby from her mother, he safely lowered the baby to the ground from the second floor and handed her to the other deputies on the ground.
The Orange County Fire Rescue Department rescued the babyâs mother and grandmother from the fire as well and there were no casualties or injuries as a result.
âAfterwards when the mom came and found me, she actually gave me a hug, so it was rewarding,â Puzynski told CNN affiliate WKMG.
He also said, âItâs a different feeling. Some nights you go home, and you donât really know if youâve made a difference, but in situations like this you feel it.â
1 Corinthians 16:13 says, âBe watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong,â just as Deputy Puzynski used his strength to save lives.
Representatives from the Orange County Sheriffâs Office told People that the baby, her mother, and the other members of the Family are âdoing well.â
