A coalition of left-wing groups issued a ā€œtravel alertā€ to visitors regarding ā€œpotential dangers that exist in the United Statesā€ on Tuesday, according to an email obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The alert, issued by the Florida Immigrant Coalition (FLIC), the American Friends Service Committee and Semillas Columbia, cited recent federal law enforcement operations in the state and warned potential travelers and tourists may be ā€œat risk.ā€ Miami is set to be one of the host cities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

ā€œAs Florida prepares to host FIFA matches, the same enforcement tactics threaten to place international fans and delegations at risk—especially people of color, visitors from Latin America, Africa, and Asia, and dual-nationals who could be targeted or questioned without cause,ā€ the alert states.

ā€œFlorida is no longer a safe destination for international tourists. When federal and local agents can detain anyone at anytime without cause and without identifying themselves, everyone is at risk,ā€ Tessa Petit, Executive Director of the Florida Immigrant Coalition, stated. ā€œInternational visitors must ask themselves if a soccer match is worth the risk of being kidnapped and jailed until God-knows-when, in deplorable conditions, by a secret police who is using racial profiling, judging people for how they look or their accent, and getting away with literal murder in the streets of our country.ā€

ā€œSuch is the state of affairs in the United States and in Florida. We urge the international community to be aware of the risks before setting foot in Florida,ā€ she continued.

The FLIC did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

The travel alert cites Florida’s ā€œpattern of collaboration between federal immigration agencies and local police,ā€ claiming it has resulted in ā€œincreased racial profiling, masked or unidentifiable officers, and arbitrary questioning of people based on appearance, language, or accent.ā€

The groups in the email describe themselves as a ā€œcoalition of civil rights, community leaders, and human rights leaders.ā€

Florida consistentlyranksĀ second in total arrests by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis praised the agency’s ā€œOperation Tidal Waveā€ in January 2026, announcing the operation resulted in ā€œover 10,000 arrestsā€ in under eight months.ā€
