Olivia Troye, former top homeland security and coronavirus adviser to Vice President Mike Pence, is doubling down on her criticism of President Donald Trumpâs coronavirus response.
Co-host of âThe Viewâ Joy Behar asked Troye what the breaking point was for her during her time with the administration and why she is revealing details of her experience now.
âI think the breaking point for me was the fact that the president seems unwavering in his rhetoric about things that matter when it comes to the response to the COVID pandemic, I mean he continues to undermine the doctors on the task force,â Troye said.
She added, âThis has been going on for over six months.â
Check out her comments below:
She claimed ânot a day went byâ where Trump did not hinder the good work being done by the coronavirus task force.
Troye revealed her motive behind speaking out now.
âI decided now is the time, where really weâre going into a couple of weeks into an election where the vote and the way that people vote is going to really matter,â Troye said.
She continued, âBecause this is going to be if we donât stop this four more years of the continued lying, and we could be in this pandemic for a much longer time, and weâre going into the fall into the winter. This will be a remaining serious concern.â
Troye told the Washington Post she would vote for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden because of what she has witnessed during her time with the administration, as IJR previously reported
According to Troye, she sat in on âevery singleâ coronavirus task force meeting from February to July.
She said the president was not focused during the meetings.
White House spokesman Judd Deere told the Washington Post, her âassertions have no basis in reality and are flat out inaccurate.â
He added, âThe truth is President Trump always put the well-being of the American people first.â
