Former White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham is sharing what she knows about former President Donald Trumpâs behavior during the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
During an interview with CNN, co-host John Brennan asked Grisham, âDo you know specifically who pleaded with Trump to stop the violence during the attack? We have heard Ivanka, Kevin McCarthy, who else?â
She replied, âI donât know specifically. I know Mrs. Trump did not. So thereâs that.â
Grisham added, âAll I know about that day was that he was in the dining room, gleefully watching on his TV as he often did, âlook at all of the people fighting for me,â hitting rewind, watching it again â thatâs what I know.â

During the same interview, Grisham told the network a group of her former colleagues plan to meet next week to try and stop the former president.
âNext week, a group of former Trump staff are going to come together, administration officials are going to come together and weâre going to talk about how we can formally do some things to try and stop him and also, the extremism, that that kind of violence, rhetoric that has been talked about and continues to divide our country,â Grisham said.
Grisham also said she is looking to âtravel the country and talk to people who are believers like I once wasâ and âexplain who (Trump) really is,â as CNN reports.
She explained to the network, âIâm hoping that people will talk to somebody like me or some of these other people who really did believe in Trump and understand you can be proud of his policies, you can still be behind a lot of the America First policies that he implemented, which I am, but it doesnât have to be him. It just doesnât have to be this man who has caused such chaos and destruction in the country.â
After less than one year as press secretary, Grisham stepped down. She went on to serve as the former first ladyâs chief of staff and spokesperson.
