Multiple Fox News employees have alleged hypocrisy after the network critically covered Dr. Anthony Fauci despite having privately supported the very COVID restrictions championed by the public health official.
Former Fox Corp producer Breanna Morello alleged Tuesday that Fox is now âattempting to rewrite history by going afterâ Fauci.
Morello claimed in an X post that Fox attempted to get her âto comply with an ILLEGAl vaccine mandateâ when she worked there. Her comments came as Fox News has recently published multiplearticles about the release of Fauciâs personal diary entries ahead of his Wednesday Senate testimony.
âFox offered me a $500 bonus to get the Covid jab,â Morello wrote in the social media post. âWhen I declined, they threatened to put me on unpaid leave after making me move to NYC.â
Morello and Fox News each did not immediately respond to the DCNFâs request for comment.
âHereâs a quote from one of their emails sent to me: ââŠUnder the Mayorâs mandate, beginning December 27, all workers in New York City who perform in-person work at an office location, including FOX employees, must show proof of receiving at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine,'â according to her X post. âWorkers will then have 45 days to show proof of their second dose (for Pfizer or Moderna vaccines).â
Tucker Carlson â who hosted Fox Newsâ flagship show during the COVID outbreak â told the DCNF that members of his staff had to create fake religious exemptions to get around the mandate.
âAs a result of this mandate, COVID-19 testing will no longer be an alternative to vaccination in New York City as of December 27,â Morelloâs post continues. âThis mandate by The Mayor prohibits unvaccinated employees from working at FOX New York offices as of December 27. To comply with this mandate, we are requesting immediate action to be taken by all New York City office-based employees currently working at an office, hybrid or remote.â
In a separate Tuesday night X post, Morello wrote that she was âforced to resign because I stood for the truth.â
Morello is a journalist with âover a decade of experience in the media industryâ who previously worked at outlets such as Fox Corp, Newsmax, local news stations, MLB Advanced Media and ESPN Plus, according to a bio on Simon & Schusterâs website. She has previously stated she left Fox after the company mandated that employees receive COVID-19 vaccines, WorldNetDaily reported in August 2022.
She does not seem to be the only person who claims Fox severed ties with them for a reason linked to COVID.
Investigative journalist Lara Logan, a former frequent Fox News guest, wrote in a Tuesday X post that âFox News cancelled me & cancelled my contract negotiations.â
âI donât regret it one bit,â Logan continued. âThere is only one truth.â
Logan previously alleged that she had been âpushed outâ by Fox News after she sparked criticism by making comments comparing Fauci to infamous Nazi doctor Josef Mengele, The Hill reported in 2022.
Logan did not immediately respond to the DCNFâs request for comment.
