George Clooney spoke out about who he knew former President Donald Trump as before his time at the White House.
During an interview on the BBCâs âThe Andrew Marr Show,â Clooney predicted Trump is âgoing to be a factor for a while,â adding, âI knew him before he was a president, he was just a guy who was chasing girls. Every time you went out heâd come over and be like, âWhatâs the name of that girl?â Thatâs all he was.â
He continued, âThe idea that thereâs this whole group of people that they think heâs the champion of â which he certainly canât stand in real life â but heâs going to play this out for awhile, and weâll see where we go with it as a country.â
Clooney said his hope is âwe have a little better sense than to do that again.â

Weighing in on the Biden administrationâs performance, Clooney explained, âItâs like taking a battered child and thinking everythingâs going to be OK his first day in school.â
He suggested there are âa lot of things that have to be repaired, you know? Thereâs a lot of healing that has to happen and itâs going to take time.â
Additionally, the actor commented on Bidenâs sliding poll numbers.
âPoll numbers come up and go down, I would expect them to go up again,â Clooney said. âDonald Trumpâs went up and down.â
Fox News reported the presidentâs average approval rating among voters has continued to decrease since June, standing at around 38%.
During an interview with Yahoo Finance earlier this month, Trump said he would âbeat everyone elseâ in the 2024 Republican primary, as IJR reported.
The former president has not made any official announcements on his plans for 2024. According to The Washington Post, âInstead of a presidential campaign announcement, Trump, 75, has settled on a strategy of winks and nods.â
