Democratic strategist James Carville voiced his âoutrageâ Wednesday at legal pundits claiming that former President Donald Trump is facing unfair legal treatment.
Trump has faced four criminal cases since leaving office in 2021, with two linked to the 2020 presidential election, one tied to the 2016 presidential election and another concerning the retention of classified documents. Carville, on his âPolitics War Roomâ podcast, took aim at prominent attorney Alan Dershowitz, George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley and CNN senior legal analyst Elie Honig for calling out issues in the cases against Trump.

âMy outrage is, these are my favorite ass wipes in modern America, the truth tellers, the Alan Dershowitzâs of the world, the Jonathan Turleyâs of the world. Itâs âI can do no other, I must tell the truth,ââ Carville said. âAnd right now in contention to break â but I donât think the guy can â he can try, I donât think heâs talented enough to break into Turley-Dershowitz thing, but try he is is one Elie Honig.â
Carville called on his listeners to read an article by former litigator Joe Patrice headlined, âElie Honig Makes Pitch To Become Donald Trumpâs Favorite Legal Analyst,â in which the author asserts that the former president might now prefer the CNN analyst over Turley and Dershowitz.
âThey canât help but tell the truth. âI just have to say that I think that Trumpâs getting a bad deal from the legal system.â Or, âYou have to say, you have to admit, James, that theseâ â you know, these are the kind of people that would have said that, âJames, you got to admit that Roosevelt was mean to the Japanese,â the Democratic strategist added. âHe cut off the oil, and yeah, you ought to focus on what happened at Nanking, but there have been other atrocities. Look at slavery in the United States.â Or, âYou gotta admit, James, even John Maynard Keynes said that the treaties post-World War I were too harsh.ââ
âThese are the kind of fucking people that want to preen in front of you and strut and tell you how they canât help but be honest; they just have to call âem like they see âem,â Carville continued. âOh, go fuck yourself, okay? All of you.â
The latest major development in Trumpâs cases was Judge Tanya Chutkan releasing special counsel Jack Smithâs 165-page brief consisting of evidence collected in his investigation of Trumpâs alleged interference in the 2020 election. Honig took to CNNâs airwaves to call the release âunusualâ and wrote an article about it headlined âJack Smithâs October Cheap Shotâ in the Intelligencer.
âThe Constitution is at risk, the entire future of the country at risk, so donât tell me Abraham Lincoln suspended habeas corpus, all right? Donât tell me that Franklin Roosevelt excluded farm workers from Social Security, all right?â Carville said. âThese are the assholes that run around, âIâm better, Iâm smarter, Iâm more honest than you. I just have to call âem like I see âem.â These are the kind of people that make me â they donât make me want to throw up. They make me actually throw up.â
âAnd between now and election day, Iâm on the look for these motherfuckers, and Iâm going to call âem out at every juncture,â he added. âBut you need to look up this massive Jonathan Turdley, Alan Dershowitz and maybe this guy Elie Honig needs to go nude on some Marthaâs Vineyard beach so he can be like his hero Alan Dershowitz. What a fucking fraud. What a fraud.â
