New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) called comments that President Joe Biden made about Republicans “horribly insulting.”
During an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, Sununu was asked about Biden’s latest attack on the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement.
When asked if he sees “semi-fascism” in his party, Sununu responded, “Horribly insulting. The fact that the president would go out and just insult half of America…effectively call half of America semi-fascist.”
He accused Biden of “trying to stir up controversy. He’s trying to stir up this anti-Republican sentiment right before the election. It’s horribly inappropriate.”
The governor continued, “He should apologize.”
Acknowledging there are elements of fascism and white supremacy in America, Sununu added that it is also not true that “all the Democrats are communists.”
Sununu explained, “When we allow ourselves just to talk in these extremes, we polarize the country.”
Additionally, Sununu pointed out Biden’s promise that he was going to unite the country.
“And then to call half of America fascists?” Sununu said. “He owes an apology. That’s not appropriate. That isn’t leadership.”
