Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) suggested President Joe Bidenâs time in office has been âcringeworthy.â
During an appearance on Mondayâs Jesse Watters Primetime, the host noted, âThe liberals are bailing on Joe Biden in 2024.â
He asked Kennedy, âWhy so?â
Kennedy replied, âSome politicians in Washington, D.C â not all of them, but some â care more about their problems than yours.â
He continued, âAnd the thing they want most in the world is to be reelected. Certain members of President Bidenâs own party are running from him because they think President Biden will hurt their re-election.â
According to Kennedy, Biden has âstepped on every rake in the yard. I donât mean to be unfair, but itâs been cringeworthy.â
He added, âHe has mismanaged Congress, mismanaged Covid, mismanaged crime, mismanaged the border, mismanaged the Afghanistan, mismanaged the economy, mismanaged inflation, and forfeited Americaâs energy Independence.â
Still, Kennedy acknowledged the president believes he is doing a âswell job.â
The senator explained, âI donât think most Americans are persuaded. I donât think the American people hate President Biden. I certainly donât. But I think a majority of the voters in our country at this juncture think he would be better off selling catheters on late night TV than serving as president of the United States. And those are just the facts.â

Some Democrats have been hesitant to comment on whether Biden should run again in 2024.
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) refused to say whether he would support Biden during an interview with ABC News.
âIâm not going, Iâm not getting into 2022 or 2024,â Manchin said.
He added, âWhoever is my president, thatâs my president. And Joe Biden is my president right now.â
Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) said she did not want to answer that question, adding, âI mean, heâs the president, and he has the right to run for a second term, absolutely, but I donât want to, Iâd rather you not do that, ask that question.â
A New York Times/Siena College Research Institute poll from July found most Democrats do not want to see Biden run again.
