Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has said he sees no need to Debate his Democratic foe again since he won the first Debate Tuesday.
However, many of his Republican allies are urging him to Debate Vice President Kamala Harris, whose team immediately called for another Debate, per The Hill.
āI think it would be an opportunity,ā said Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.). āIf I was in Trumpās position, I would.ā
Some have said that Trump missed an opportunity to talk about his policies. Instead, he focused on nonsensical theories, such as Haitian immigrants eating pets in Springfield, Ohio.
āI believe we missed a lot of opportunities last night,ā Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) said and agreed a second Debate could be a good thing.
āIt makes a lot more sense to, instead of talking about cats and dogs, talk about 1.5 million got-aways,ā Tillis said. āThatās a lot more frightening to me, and itās a real threat.ā
Others believe if another Debate takes place, it should be in a more conservative setting.
āI wouldnāt ever Debate again in a liberal setting. I donāt think it should be at CNN, I donāt think it needs to be at ABC. Heās done two of those,ā Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) said. Instead, it should be at Fox News or another conservative outlet.
Fox News suggested hosting a Debate in October, with moderators anchors Bret Baier and Martha McCallum at the helm.
āI donāt know. Thatās up to him,ā said Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.), The Hill reported.
āThatās up to them to decide. Although, usually if youāre winning, you donāt want another Debate, so itās curious that the Harris people want one. ⦠Despite all the media talk and the punditry going on, I think theyāre very concerned about the trajectory of the race over the last 10 days, especially as voters learn more about her and figure out that sheās just like Biden or worse.ā
Harrisā team said after the Debate voters need another look at the candidates.
āAmerican people got to see the choice they will face this fall at the ballot boxā but should have another opportunity before Nov. 5.
Trump said Harris wants another Debate ābecause she lost tonight.ā
āI donāt know that I want to do another Debate,ā he said Wednesday morning on Fox News.
While Harris has been viewed as the victor in Tuesdayās Debate, thereās some concern whether that will translate into more votes. As such, Democrats are all for another Debate.
āIād certainly enjoy watching a repeat,ā Sen. Peter Welch (D-Vt.) said.
āIt was a wonder to behold. She was so confident and down to earth and in command,ā Welch said. āI think she can repeat . And I think Trump can repeat it.ā
Democrats are concerned that voters donāt really know Harris, compared to the highly recognized Trump and she could benefit from another Debate.
