Vice President Kamala Harris used former President Donald Trumpâs own words against him.
Harris went after her political rival for the presidency by showing clips of him at his own rallies as he refers to his opponents the âenemy within,â ABC News reported.
In response, the Democratic nominee for president called Trump âincreasingly unstable and unhingedâ on Monday night.
âAfter all these years, we know who Donald Trump is: He is someone who will stop at nothing to claim power for himself,â Harris told the audience packed in Erie Insurance Arena in Erie, Pennsylvania.
âAnd you donât have to take my word for it. Iâve said, for a while now, watch his rallies, listen to his words,â she said.
Thatâs when Harris showed Trump rallies and last monthâs.
âHe tells us who he is, and he tells us what he would do if he is elected president. So here tonight, I will show you one example of Donald Trumpâs worldview and intentions,â Harris said, as the video played on large monitors at the venue.
âThe worst people are the enemies from within,â Trump said in one clip.
âNow if you had one really violent day, one rough hour, and I mean real rough,â he said in another clip.
This was the first time Harris showed video evidence of Trumpâs previous comments in a rally even though she has quoted him orally in the past.
âSo, you heard his words. You heard his words coming from him. Heâs talking about the enemy within Pennsylvania. Heâs talking about the enemy within our country, Pennsylvania,â Harris said when the clip stopped.
âHe considers anyone who doesnât support him or who will not bend to his will, an enemy of our country,â Harris said.
Harris continued, saying another Trump term would be âa huge risk for America and dangerous.â These are terms he has used for reproductive freedoms, climate and LGBTQ+ rights.
At the end of the rally, Harris noted the importance of the election.
âWe are all here together because we know whatâs at stake. And we are here together because we love our country,â Harris said.
