The House has taken the rare step of expelling one of its members.
On Friday, lawmakers voted 311-114 to expel Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.)
One hundred and five Republicans voted to remove him, while 112 voted against the move. Meanwhile, 206 Democrats voted in favor of removing Santos while two voted against it.
Fox News’ Chad Pergram reported Santos is just the sixth House member in U.S. history to be expelled.
Friday’s vote came after a House Ethics Committee report accused Santos of seeking to “fraudulently exploit every aspect of his House candidacy for his own personal financial profit.”
He has been under fire since late last year when it was revealed he fabricated large parts of this resume for his 2022 campaign.
