Chicago resident Vashon Tuncle appeared on Fox News Monday to call out state and local officials for their pushback on the deportation of illegal migrants.
Following his inauguration last week, President Donald Trump fulfilled his campaign promise to shut down the U.S. southern border and carry out mass deportations as encounters at the border reached record highs under the Biden-Harris administration. On âThe Ingraham Angle,â host Laura Ingraham asked Tuncle for his thoughts on Democratic Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker and Democratic Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson over their opposition to the Trump administrationâs push to deport illegal immigrants.
âHow do you guys sleep at night knowing that there are rapists out here that committed these heinous crimes against the children and the women?â Tuncle asked, referring to Johnson and Pritzker. âHow do you guys sleep at night knowing that weâre half a billion dollars in debt when it comes to these illegals? How do these men sleep at night knowing that youâre putting illegal immigrants that are committing crimes over the American citizens? I just canât believe that theyâre doing this.â
Following Trump and Homanâs crackdown on illegal migrants, Johnson announced Friday that he would team up with the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) to launch a âKnow Your Rightsâ ad campaign. The ads will be displayed on more than 400 video screens across CTA stops to guide commuters on their rights if they are visited âby U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.â On Sunday, Pritzker also criticized the Trump administration, saying he would âstand in the wayâ of federal efforts if the feds were to break state laws.

More than 7 million illegal migrants are believed to have entered the U.S. under the Biden-Harris administration. Sanctuary cities like New York City had pleaded with the Biden administration for additional assistance to manage the influx. In August 2024, Democratic New York City Mayor Eric Adams revealed the city spent $1.98 billion on housing and rent for illegal migrants, an estimated $2 billion on services and supplies, and nearly $500 million on food, medical aid, IT, and administrative costs, according to CBS Austin.
Tuncle went on to say that those who have crossed into the U.S. are âcommitting a crime.â
âWe have to just start putting Americans first. Itâs just as simple as that. I believe Tom Homan is doing the right job when it comes to putting Americans first,â Tuncle said.
âI just want to say this to all the criers out there who are crying over the undocumented immigrants whoâve been here for years and whatever, like Selena Gomez. Tom Homan has already made this clear. If you are here illegally, youâre not off the table. You are committing a crime within itself if youâre here illegally in America.â
