It’s not satire. It’s Illinois.
An illegal immigrant — yes, illegal — not only managed to stay in the U.S. for a decade after overstaying a visa, but also got himself a badge, a gun, a six-figure salary, and a police pension… all while working as a sworn law enforcement officer. In a state run by Democrats, of course. Because if you thought it couldn’t get more dystopian — hold onto your irony meters, they’re about to explode.
Radule Bojovic, a Montenegrin national who was supposed to leave the U.S. in 2015, was arrested this week by federal immigration agents after they discovered he’d been patrolling the streets of Hanover Park, Illinois, in full uniform. Let that sink in. The guy was literally enforcing U.S. law while actively breaking it. And for nearly 10 years? Crickets from the state.
But here’s the kicker: not only was he armed — something that’s a felony for illegal immigrants under federal law — but he was raking in over $200,000 a year in salary and benefits. Oh, and the Pension Fund Board approved him for retirement perks, too. Because apparently, in Illinois, citizenship is optional, but the paychecks are mandatory.
Now, pause for a second and imagine the inverse. A U.S. citizen overstays a visa in Montenegro, gets hired as a cop, carries a weapon illegally, and takes home a six-figure salary. Would the government look the other way? Would leftist media brush it off as a “technical oversight”? Of course not. But in Pritzker’s Illinois? Anything goes.
And if you think this is just some rogue hiring mistake, Homeland Security isn’t buying it. They pointed the finger directly at Governor J.B. Pritzker, who’s been busy turning the entire state into a sanctuary playground for the illegal population. According to DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, this wasn’t just negligence — it was complicity. “Governor J.B. Pritzker doesn’t just allow violent illegal aliens to terrorize Illinois’s communities,” she said, “he allows illegal aliens to work as sworn police officers.”
You really can’t make this up. A man in the country illegally, prohibited from even owning a gun, was given one by the government… to enforce the law. And somehow, we’re supposed to believe this is compassionate governance?
