Fox News’ Chris Wallace interrupted Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar to correct him on President-elect Joe Biden‘s title during an interview on Sunday.

During an appearance on “Fox News Sunday,” Azar was asked if the country would be in “much better shape” regarding the COVID-19 outbreak if President Donald Trump had worn a mask and encouraged Americans to wear masks earlier on.

“We welcome Vice President Biden to the club,” Azar responded, adding, “Since the middle of April … the president’s guidelines have called for …”

Wallace interjected to correct Azar on Biden’s title, “He’s the president-elect, sir. He’s the president-elect.”

Azar continued without addressing Wallace’s interjection as he noted Trump has called mask wearing a “patriotic act” and that Trump administration officials have called for mask-wearing.

Wallace responded, “But, first of all, it’s the President-elect Joe Biden.”

He went on to note that Trump has been reluctant to wear masks in public and that at his rally in Georgia on Saturday, there was a scant observance of mask-wearing.

Trump has refused to concede the presidential election and admit that Biden won. And Congressional Republicans have also been reluctant to call Biden the president-elect.
