Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s senate campaign has already been at the center of mockery just one day after she announced her candidacy.

Crockett, a far-left congresswoman known for her shouting and slew of controversies, announced on Monday that she will attempt to unseat Republican Texas Sen. John Cornyn in the Senate. Her campaign has already featured a rapper trashing Republicans, her stating that racism and sexism are to blame for her losing and her already revolving her messaging around President Donald Trump.

Crockett’s first campaign ad features her staring into the camera with a voice-over of Trump calling her a “low IQ person” and mocking her prominence in the Democratic Party.

When Crockett took the stage, she told her supporters that Texas would turn blue and suggested that the state is not actually red.

“Texas turns blue. It won’t be because of any one candidate, but because of each and every one of you doing your part. Turning Texas blue is what I want to talk to y’all about today. Now, there are those that say ‘Ain’t no way, we done tried it 50 kinds of ways,’” Crockett told the crowd.

Crockett also said that racism and sexism will be to blame if she loses her Senate bid.

“So I’m asking you to tune out those intrusive voices that say can’t win because she’s black, because she’s a woman or because she’s a Democrat,” Crockett said. “If you believe women should be in all spaces, then I ask you to stand with me.

Crockett has entered the spotlight during her time as a congresswoman for her contentious remarks and behavior. In April 2024, the congresswoman said that she is open to exempting black people from paying taxes as a form of reparations. She also famously attacked Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s so-called “beach blonde, bad built, butch body” during a May 17, 2024, House Oversight Committee hearing.

The senator-hopeful reportedly “terrorizes” her staff, rarely shows up to the office, forces her staff to rent luxury cars to drive her to the Capitol and has experienced repeated turnover.
