Jelly Roll has filed for divorce from his wife, Bunnie Xo, bringing an end to a marriage that lasted nearly a decade and became one of country music’s most talked-about relationships.
According to Fox News, court records reviewed by Fox News Digital show the country singer filed for divorce in Williamson County, Tennessee, on May 18. The filing lists May 9 as the couple’s separation date and cites irreconcilable differences.

The split comes just months after the pair appeared together at the 2026 Grammy Awards, where they showed public displays of affection on the red carpet and inside the ceremony.
Jelly Roll, 41, also acknowledged his wife from the stage after winning the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Country Album.
The singer and Bunnie Xo, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, married in August 2016 during a Las Vegas ceremony after meeting the previous year.

During their marriage, Bunnie became a stepmother to Jelly Roll’s children, Bailee and Noah.
The couple often spoke publicly about the challenges they faced early in their relationship. In her memoir, “Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic,” Bunnie detailed personal struggles, trust issues, and difficult moments that nearly ended their marriage.
“When I found out about it, I was devastated,” she told Fox News Digital in February while discussing an alleged affair from the early years of their relationship.
“I was hurt because I didn’t think he would be the one person to do that. I thought he was different. And at that moment, my heart was broken.”
Bunnie also explained that neither of them entered the marriage with traditional expectations.
“I was a working girl, and he was an ex-drug dealer — a gangster-turned-struggling artist,” she said. “There’s a different set of rules on the street than there are in what I’d call traditional marriages.”

The pair later sought couples counseling in an effort to repair their relationship. According to Bunnie, one early therapy session ended in a heated argument.
“It was stepping on a grenade,” she recalled. “We were just screaming at each other. There was just so much anger, so much hurt, so much pain from both ends.”
Despite those struggles, the couple reconciled and renewed their vows in Las Vegas in 2023 at the same chapel where they originally married.
At the time, Bunnie described their relationship as one built on growth, honesty, and commitment.
“We don’t judge each other,” she said. “I know everything about my husband, and he knows everything about me. No matter how hard it gets, we face things head-on.”
Neither Jelly Roll nor Bunnie Xo has publicly commented on the divorce filing.
