The Atlantic contributing writer Jemele Hill claimed Americans living in the middle of the country who voted in favor of border security were motivated by racism during a Wednesday episode of “SPOLITICS Live.”
Former President Joe Biden reportedlypresided over the highest level of net migration in American history, with President Donald Trump winning the 2024 election on a platform of mass deportations. Hill said on her show that Americans in states like Iowa and Nebraska did not have legitimate concerns about border security because of their location in the middle of the nation.

“A lot of y’all voted for what you voted for because of who they were keeping out the country. Some of y’all don’t want the country to look a certain way,” Hill said. “Some of y’all think this country is getting a little too brown, little too dark for your taste. And so you voted to deport and to terrorize certain members of the community because you don’t want the community of America to look a certain way. And just admit it!”
