Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki does not believe former President Donald Trump is running for president to ā American greatness.ā
During MSNBCās āInside with Jen Psakiā show on Sunday, Psaki played a clip of President Joe Bidenās speech overseas commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
Biden has been accused of plagiarizing former President Ronald Reaganās speech. However, as Politico noted prior to Bidenās speech, āaides that they have studied the Reagan trip closely and are looking to similarly capture the attention of a distracted, disillusioned public and remind them of how much is still at stake. Not only is Biden expected to echo Reagan in paying homage to these climactic battles for freedom and democracy, he will deliver his remarks from where Reagan stood, on those iconic cliffs where the war turned.ā
And Psaki hailed the president for his speech.
āTo hear both of them now, side by side, youād think theyāre almost completing each otherās sentences as they speak about the sacrifice of those brave soldiers and the role of American leadership in the world,ā she said.
Psaki then tried contrasting Biden and Trump, claiming the former president is ādenigratingā the U.S.
āThe truth is Trump couldnāt really care less about preserving the values that the U.S. has long stood for,ā Psaki claimed, adding, āThis campaign is not about preserving our freedom, itās about preserving his own. Itās not about upholding American greatness. Itās about staying out of prison.ā
