Comedian Jerry Seinfeld had a sharp response when an influencer tried to get him to say âfree Palestine,â telling the streamer that Palestine âdoesnât exist.â
The exchange was captured in a video posted to TikTok by streamer Finesse Fave, who approached Seinfeld and asked, âWhat up Seinfeld, what up? Can we get a âfree Palestine?â Come on, give us one âfree Palestine.ââ
Seinfeld laughed at first, then answered directly: âIt doesnât exist.â
The moment quickly drew attention online, adding to a series of recent public encounters in which Seinfeld has been confronted over his support for Israel.
In May, the comedian was heckled while leaving a New York Knicks game. Wearing a Knicks hat, Seinfeld appeared unfazed as a protester shouted at him while he made his way to a car.
âFâ you, Jerry Seinfeld! Free Palestine,â the person yelled, according to video posted by the Palestinian Assembly for Liberation on Instagram. âYou support the genocide of babies in Gaza!â
Seinfeld laughed during the encounter and did not appear to engage further with the protester.
The âSeinfeldâ creator has also criticized the âfree Palestineâ movement in more direct terms. During an appearance at Duke University in September, he attended an event featuring Omer Shem Tov, an Israeli hostage who was abducted by Hamas during the Oct. 7, 2023, terror attacks and held captive for 505 days.
Seinfeld gave a brief introduction at the event before turning his attention to anti-Israel activists. He argued that the phrase âfree Palestineâ often masks hostility toward Jewish people.
âFree Palestine is, to me, just â youâre free to say you donât like Jews. Just say you donât like Jews,â Seinfeld said.
He continued by comparing the movementâs rhetoric to the Ku Klux Klan, saying the Klan is more direct about its hatred.
âBy saying âFree Palestine,â youâre not admitting what you really think,â Seinfeld said. âSo compared to the Ku Klux Klan, Iâm actually thinking the Klan is a little better here because they can come right out and say, âWe donât like Blacks, we donât like Jews.â Okay, thatâs honest.â
Seinfeld has not limited his recent commentary to politics. In an interview with AirMail published Saturday, the comedian, who is known for his large collection of classic cars, said he has no interest in electric vehicles.
âIâm not interested in electric cars at all,â he said. âAnybody else wants to do it, thatâs fine. I think itâs a big, stupid virtue signal. âLook at me. Iâm saving the planet, yeah.â What about the lithium? Itâs all BS.â
He also joked about self-driving cars, saying he tells his children that future generations may look back with disbelief at the idea that people were once allowed to drive freely.
The 72-year-old comedian remains especially associated with rare Porsches, though he said he does not know exactly how many he currently owns.
âI always say itâs an amount that if you looked at it, you would not say, âThis makes sense,ââ Seinfeld said.
