Former CNN host Jim Acosta attempted to portray President Donald Trump as diminished on a Tuesday episode of âFast Politics w/ Molly Jong-Fastâ by saying he no longer holds rallies, but Trump held a rally the same night the episode was released.
Acosta argued on the podcast that Trump appears to be exhausted and pointed to what he described as a lack of rallies to support his claim. However, Trump held a 100-minute rally in Pennsylvania on Tuesday to kick off a year-long national tour touting his economic agenda.

âHe seems extremely tired. And I will tell you, having covered him up close, where are the press conferences? He doesnât do press conferences. The most he can do now is he brings the little kids into the room and he screams at them and calls them names,â Acosta said. âAnd then he sends them away. Thatâs the extent of him doing question and answer time now, is on Air Force One or in the Oval Doesnât do press conferences. Doesnât do rallies!â
âRemember that special election in Tennessee where he literally phoned it in. He called Mike Johnson and Mike Johnson held the cell phone up to the cameras,â he continued. âAnd Donald Trump was talking about how they canât lose this ruby red district in Tennessee. In the old days, he would have done the hangar rally where he flies in and gets off of Air Force One and it costs the taxpayers a billion dollars. Doesnât do that anymore!â
Moreover, while The New York Times reported that as of Nov. 25, Trump had decreased his domestic travel compared to the same period of his first term, it noted the president had increased his foreign travel. Despite his increase in foreign travel and frequent media appearances, White House reporter Katie Rogers and journalist Dylan Freedman titled the report, âSigns of Fatigue: Trump Faces Realities Of Aging in Office,â writing that the president had been less publicly active and appeared tired in comparison to his first term.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt called out the NYT and Rogers on Dec. 1 over their reporting, suggesting that Trump was in decline after previously defending former President Joe Bidenâs health.
âI will point out one fake news story over the weekend before I let you all go from The NewYork Times that took about one-third of the presidentâs daily calendar and his daily scheduleand said that heâs doing less than he did in his first term or he might not be fit for the job,â Leavitt said. âThat is unequivocally false and itâs deeply unfortunate that this story was writtenby the same outlet and the same reporter who wrote this. âBiden is doing 100 percent fineafter tripping while boarding Air Force One.ââ
Leavitt also shared during the Dec. 1 press briefing that a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in October found Trump âremains in excellent overall health.â
Furthermore, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles asserted on âThe Mom Viewâ Monday that Trump would campaign aggressively in the 2026 midterm elections.
âeâs going to campaign like itâs 2024 again for all these people that he helps,â Wiles said. âHe doesnât help everybody, but for those he does, heâs a difference-maker and heâs certainly a turnout machine.â
