John Legend Weighs Leaving US If Trump Is Reelected: Americans May Want to Go ‘Somewhere Else’

Singer 🎤John Legend is considering leaving the United States if voters reelect President Donald Trump, and he is also encouraging Americans to think about doing the same.

Legend told Cosmopolitan this week Trump is a danger to democracy and suggested Americans may want to flock to a country that protects democracy.

“At some point, if that project was to be in any way successful, you’d have to think about going somewhere that is a true democracy, that has respect for the rule of law and human rights,” Legend said.

He added, “If America chooses to be that place then people will have to start thinking about going somewhere else. It is truly disturbing and concerning.”

Legend explained while it would be difficult to leave the United States, he may have no other choice.

“Every once in a while you think about it,” Legend said.

He went on, “We were born and raised here, all of our families are here. It would be hard to leave. But I don’t know what one’s supposed to do when you have a leader who is trying to destroy democracy.”

Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigan have voiced their criticism of Trump in the past.

Trump previously took to twitter to fire back at Legend.
